Anti-vaxxers already have freedom and have made their choice, says reader

I’m in my 80s so I was glad to get the COVID-19 vaccine when it was available. My choice.

It seems to me the anti-vaxxers are tired of paying our seniors’ health care and old age pensions. We should just lie down and die when we’re sick. Thousands have already done that in our nursing homes.

The protests being held in Ottawa and our own municipality declare you want Freedom of Choice. Well, when you decided not to be vaccinated, that was your choice. You already live in one of the best countries
in the world.

We have rules to be followed. Rules of the road, rules to not expose ourselves in public. Urinating at the Cenotaph is disgusting. It was up to the protest organizers to supply toilets, not the City of Ottawa.

It is your choice to not be vaccinated but don’t whine when you can’t fly, eat in restaurants, attend hockey games or concerts, etc. The rest of us chose to follow the rules.

I just ask that if you get the virus, you do not take up a hospital bed that others with cancer, heart attacks, or broken bones need.

You already have freedom and you’ve made your choice, so let’s go home and be thankful for the great country we live in.

You anti-vaxxers remind me of (former United States president) Donald Trump and his followers.
