Far from Tyranny, says reader

Far from Tyranny, says reader
To the editor:
RE: “Misunderstanding seems to be the word of the day, says reader”

I agree with Mr. Kotva’s response to Ms. Janzen’s letter to the editor, regarding the recent trucker protests.

I would like to remind everyone that during this pandemic, we had a minority federal government, including an election in 2021 where the Liberals received only 32.6 per cent of the popular vote (another minority government).

Based on our parliamentary process, and the ability to call a non-confidence vote at any time during a minority government, would indicate to me, and hopefully to others, that most of our elected representatives generally agree with the measures put in place, and thus, are representing the majority of Canadians.

A simple non-confidence vote and subsequent election has the potential to eradicate the so-called Tyranny that Ms. Janzen refers to.

Far from Tyranny.
