Wolves sweep Shelburne; start next series Sunday at Ripley Arena

The Ripley Wolves have advanced to the second round of the Senior “AA” playoffs after a 9-2 win in Game 4 of their opening series against Shelburne, Friday night at the Ripley Arena.

Brett Catto celebrated the Tuesday birth of his new daughter with a four-goal outburst, including a natural hat-trick in the second period – as the Wolves' constant pressure wore down the short bench of the Muskies before the floodgates opened for the home side.

Other goal-scorers were Tyson Soers, Alex Kuntz, Jarrett Kuntz, Keaton Willis and Dan Nicoloff. Assists went to Derek Skinner (5), Cody Britton (4), Nick Seiler (2), Robert White, Logan Swanton, Willis and Nicoloff.

Jason Hamilton got the win in the Wolves' net.

The Wolves will host Game 1 in the second-round series, Sunday, Feb. 27, at 5:30 p.m., against either Tavistock or Clinton.
