Why is new owner of Malcolm Place being blamed, asks reader

I'm curious as to why the new owner is being blamed in the comments for what's happening? 

He is a local businessman who was approached by the owners to buy the building due to financial difficulties. 

I agree it's a horrible situation for all the residents and staff, but why blame the new guy? 

If he didn't step in to buy and preserve the building, it would have been snatched up by developers from the city who wouldn't concern themselves with preserving its history.

The new owner, who is NOT responsible for the current residents, is doing his best to accommodate them. Cut him some slack.
