Lucknow-Wingham U18 girls hockey team wins provincial championship

The Lucknow-Wingham U18 (Under-18) girls are the provincial hockey champions after capturing the gold medal at the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association "C" tournament held in Toronto last weekend.

The determined group of young women - made up of players from Lucknow, Wingham, Goderich and Listowel – took the championship after defeating teams from across the province.

This capped off a successful season in which the girls were silver medallists at the Brampton Cougars Festival in February, and won the WOAA "C" championship in March.
