“Kings Day” spring hockey tournament runs Saturday at Davidson Centre
If you want to watch some great hockey, stop in at the Davidson Centre, Kincardine, tomorrow (
Saturday, April 23), for “Kings Day,” when the Bruce County Kings take on teams from Collingwood, Huron-Perth and London, in the AAA spring hockey tournament.
This is the second time running the event in Kincardine. The first was in 2019, and then it was cancelled for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the best hockey players in the area will be competing at the AAA level throughout the day.
The Blue Line Club will be open early for the parents, and off-ice games will be provided for the kids throughout the day.
Admission is by donation.
The Bruce County Kings is a spring hockey organization founded in 2017.
The core principles of the organization are:
- Provide a spring hockey program for young elite hockey players to practise and play against other top players in North America
- Promote skill development, friendship and an opportunity for local area kids to compete at the highest level possible
- Provide an opportunity for players who may not have the opportunity to play at AAA level but possess the skill and desire to do so
This year, there are six teams operating under the Bruce County Kings umbrella. They will take part in exhibition games and tournaments throughout Ontario during the months of April, May and June. Teams practise once per week, with a skill session once per week as well.
