Bruce County Kings dominate at AAA spring hockey tournament in Kincardine
The second installment of the Bruce County Kings Day was a resounding success.
Following a two-year hiatus, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the AAA spring hockey tournament was held Saturday, April 23, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
The Kings went 9-1 through 10 games against mostly teams from the Collingwood Blue Thunder program. The 2010 team played Forte Hockey of London, and the 2009 team played the Maitland Ice Sharks of Huron County.
The Kings executive thanks the arena staff for its patience throughout the day, as well as the Municipality of Kincardine for allowing the ice to remain in until that weekend, allowing the event to run.
The Old Stars and Bulldogs were also generous enough to allow their respective dressing rooms to be utilized throughout the day. And Bar Down did an excellent job meeting the needs of the hungry players and spectators.
Kings Day sponsors included Kempton Construction, Kincardine Dentistry, Kelden Homes, Presto Crest, Dewar Industrial Services, Kincardine Home Hardware, Kincardine Chiropractic, the Co-Operators, Meridian Bank, the Bruce Steakhouse, and Johnny K Sports Hanover.
