​Golf tournament raises $30,700 for Kincardine Big Brothers and Big Sisters

The Golf Fore Kids’ Sake held at Ainsdale Golf Course on the weekend, has raised $30,700 for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kincardine and District.

Almost 200 golfers took to the links under clear skies, sunshine and warm temperatures.

Friday, was the men’s tournament, with 120 golfers. The winning team included Ken Quinn, Boyd Carruthers, Chad Carruthers and Derek Regier. The spirit award winners were The Beach Boys – Richard Emmerton, Glyn Pinkney, Pat Pringle and John Peet.

Peter Khouri had the longest drive, and Drew Dudgeon was closest to the pin. Alec Holla won the putting contest, and the Little's Ball winner was Holla and his team, Meagan Fair, Peter Khouri and Chris Coady.

Saturday, was the ladies’ tournament, with 78 golfers. The winning team was the “Queens of the Greens,” including Lindsay Desmond, Wendy McDonald, Kelly MacNeill and Milena Dietrich. The spirit award winner was the team of Becky Robinson, Kim Catto, Robin Fischuk and Debbie Catto.

Cindy Schmidt had the longest drive and was closest to the pin. Ball toss winner was Sarah Martyn. And the Little’s Ball winner was Christine MacDonald and her team, Joanna Collings, Sonya Watson and Sarah Martyn.
