Ripley Lions golf tournament raises $10,000 for Huron Shores Hospice

June 9, 2022

The Ripley and District Lions Club welcomed 116 golfers to Ainsdale Golf Course, Friday, May 27, for the first “Golf for a Cause” tournament, in support of Huron Shores Hospice.

The event raised $10,000 for the hospice which is located at Tiverton Park Manor.

“The Ripley and District Lions Club is proud to support Huron Shores Hospice,” said president Dan Wilken. “This donation was only made possible through the incredible generosity shown by many community businesses, volunteers, sports teams and individuals.

“We hope this funding will not only support the financial needs of the hospice, but also emphasize our appreciation and recognition for the relentless volunteer efforts that are critical in sustaining the hospice.

“Thanks to the hospice volunteers, people in need have the opportunity to receive free, end-of-life care with dignity and respect in the comfort of their own community, surrounded by the love and support of their family and friends.

“The passion, dedication and commitment of the hospice volunteers are contagious, and serve as an inspiration and reminder to all of us how we can better serve our communities. We are humbled by their efforts and very proud we can make this contribution on behalf of the communities we serve.”
