​Bulldogs post one win, one loss on the weekend

The Kincardine Bulldogs of the PJHL split games on the weekend, winning Friday night at home to the Goderich Flyers, and losing on the road, Saturday, to the Mount Forest Patriots.

The ‘Dogs stomped the Flyers, 7-1, at the Davidson Centre, Friday night.

Ethan Smith opened the scoring for the Bulldogs early in the first, assisted by Nolan MacKinnon and Cohen Garvie.

Halfway through the period, Kincardine went up 2-0, on a goal by Harrison Meulensteen from Steve Grant and Carter Servais.

Liam Colhoun made it 3-0 for the Bulldogs, scoring from Jordan Beisel and Gavin Downs, in the second frame.

And Kincardine dominated the final period, scoring four goals, and allowing a single for Goderich.

Scoring for the Bulldogs, were Downs from Beisel and Colhoun; Gavin Gibbons from Kieran Moore; Grant from Landon Sanford and Meulensteen; and Smith from Kyle Dolmage.

Kincardine goalie Carter Garvie made 22 saves on 23 shots.

Friday night also saw the third annual Thanksgiving Turkey Toss, sponsored by ReMax Kincardine. The following ladies took part in the toss, assisted by their associated Bulldogs players:

Saturday night in Mount Forest, the Bulldogs came up short on a 5-1 score.

Servais had the lone goal for the ‘Dogs, on the powerplay, in the third period.

Carter Garvie made 29 saves on 34 shots on goal.

Kincardine also split games the previous weekend on the road, demolishing the Goderich Flyers, 9-2, Oct. 1; and losing to Mitchell, 7-2, Oct. 2.

The Bulldogs are in Wingham, Friday, Oct. 14, for an 8 p.m. game; and return to the Davidson Centre, Saturday, Oct. 15, to face Mitchell in a 2:30 p.m. game.
