The Tiverton Fall Fair is set for next weekend, Oct. 2-4, and there are a few changes. Firstly, there are new smoking bylaws, so you'll see signs posted around the fairgrounds - please follow the directions. There is to be no smoking/vaping within 20 metres (66 feet) of the playground or sports field. No smoking or vaping where food or drink is allowed or maybe accessed; no smoking or vaping under a covered or partially-covered structure. Signs will be posted out beyond the midway where smoking will be allowed, and other locations - please watch for the signs.
This year the fall fair parade will continue on to the Tiverton Sports Centre and disburse there. Please pick up your children at this location.
"Wrist Bands" are on sale now - $20 to ride all day at the midway. They will be honoured Friday night or Saturday or Sunday. Phone 519-368-7114. Sale ends Thursday evening, Oct. 1.
The Tiverton and District Lions will be holding their annual Christmas Bazaar, Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you would like to reserve a table, contact Lion Gerda at 519-368-7792.
The South West Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) is running a free, six-week workshop on Thursdays, beginning Oct. 22, at the Tiverton Lions Hall. We all strive toward health and well-being. This goal can be hard to reach when dealing with a lifelong condition.
The South West CCAC Self-Management program offers this free workshop to take charge of your health. The workshop is run by two peer leaders who lead the group through six to eight activities each week of the six-week workshop. Sessions last for 2.5 hours and activities give participants the opportunity to try out and practise self-management tools, share personal experiences and learn from other group members.
