World Peace Day prompts challenge to make peace within
The United Nations recognized the importance of peace and pronounced Sept. 21 as World Peace Day with the expectation that with every celebration, there would be more peace, contributing toward a better world.
Our challenge is to make peace within ourselves in order for world peace to be possible.
Of course, the world has nations, families and individuals, but in the end, it is comprised of individuals. Unless we find the inner peace among the individuals, world peace will remain a far-fledged dream.
One who finds inner peace will only create peace around. Unless we encourage the art of inner peace in human endeavour, we cannot achieve world peace. Therefore, on this day it’s important that we recognize the inner peace of individual as the basic element to build toward unbroken families, a harmonious society, prosperous nations and a peaceful world.
What we need now is a hard look at ourselves and question our perception of reality and a way of discovering the purpose of life and peace. An honest assessment during introspection will take us to the path of fullness within and sustainable peace.
We understand that life is simple but it is challenging for one to be simple; that should be one of the primary goals for attaining peace. May the almighty Supreme grant us harmony and peace, so that the aspirations of all for a happy and prosperous life may be achieved.
