​Family wishes to pass along mementos of Dr. Solomon Secord

To the Editor:

Dr. Solomon Secord was my great-grandfather.

I have mementos that my mother, his youngest grandchild, kept. I’m so happy the monument remains in front of the library in downtown Kincardine.

There are not many of us left and I would love to contact someone who might be interested in the few items my mother kept. I have many pictures that I could share also.

I’m concerned that his contribution will be lost. I’m 74 and healthy but I’m worried that in the future, no one will care about this, so I’d like to be able to donate anything that might be relevant.

My mother was so proud of her grandfather! She passed away in 2002 at the age of 93, so the legacy is dying.
