McDonald’s in Kincardine collecting Wish List items for Ronald McDonald House

McDonald’s Restaurant in Kincardine is collecting items to donate to London’s Ronald McDonald House for the Christmas season.

Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to stay together, steps away from a children’s hospital, because when families stay together, sick children get stronger.

The London facility has a Christmas store where families staying there over the holidays, are invited to select gifts for their loved ones, and the gifts are wrapped and delivered to their guest room door on Christmas morning. Every family deserves the best Christmas possible, even when the family is away from home with an ill child.

On the Holiday Wish List are the following items:
 
  • For children, tweens and adults - Bath/spa sets, shaving kits, journals, activity books, pens or colouring pencils, pajamas, bath robes, slippers, head phones, overnight bags, grooming kits, LED string lights, portable speakers, travel mugs, reusable water bottles, puzzles, board games, playing cards, Lego, art kits, science kits, yoga mats, Melissa and Doug toys, selfie sticks and tripods
  • For infants – sleepers (preemie to 12 months), onesies, bibs, rattles and toys, teething rings, soft books, sensory toys, “My First Christmas” items
  • $25 or $50 gift cards – for Shoppers Drug Mart, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Amazon, Winners, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Costco
  • Monetary donations – tax receipts are available for individual donations of $20 or more; donations may be made on-line at www.rhmc-swo.ca or in person

Ronald McDonald House also gratefully accepts gift-in-kind donations:
 
  • Kitchen, pantry, food items – New disposable food containers, plastic/saran wrap, individually-wrapped store-bought snacks, baking supplies, juice boxes, instant oatmeal, pre-packaged cookies or muffins, macaroni and cheese (boxes and bowls), packaged side dishes, canned items
  • Household items – Tide pods, unscented dryer sheets, pump hand soaps, Swiffer wet-jet pads
  • $25 or $50 gift cards – for Shoppers Drug Mart, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Amazon, Petro-Can/Esso, Canadian Tire, Superstore
  • Welcome Bag items – facial wipes, hair brushes, travel-size unscented hand lotion, travel-size or full-size toothpaste, toothbrushes

The Kincardine McDonald’s will be collecting items until Dec. 10.
