Five girls in contest to be Tiverton Fall Fair ambassador

Five girls have entered the competition to become the new Tiverton Fall Fair ambassador. The event takes place Friday night, Oct. 2, at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre in Tiverton.

The contestants include:

CLAIRE COENEN


 

Claire is the 16-year-old daughter of Amy Hiscock and Peter Coenen. She lives on a small but busy dairy farm in Kincardine Township, and is proud to be sponsored by Kincardine Veterinary Services. She attends Kincardine District Secondary School and plans to attend university next fall. Claire enjoys many local 4-H events as well as curling on the high school team.

RACHEL EBY


 

Rachel is the 17-year-old daughter of Steve and Janine Eby of Kincardine. Rachel is proud to represent her sponsor, The Beef Way in Kincardine. She is in Grade 12 at KDSS and currently works part-time at Sobeys. Rachel has volunteered with Christmas Knights, and Camp Spark, as well as horse camps, and enjoys horseback-riding, playing the violin and spending time with family and friends. Next year, she hopes to attend college to become a veterinary technician.

JADA ELLIS

Jada Ellis is the 17-year-old daughter of Jen and Joe Dunbar of Tiverton. She is proud to represent her sponsor, Ian Martin in Tiverton. She is currently a senior at KDSS and enjoys playing rugby and soccer. Jada works part-time at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar.

DANIELLE McBRIDE


 

Danielle is the 17-year-old daughter of Anne and George McBride and lives on the 9^th Concession of Kincardine. She is currently a Grade 12 student at KDSS and is proud to represent her sponsor, the Tiverton Firefighters Association. She enjoys playing rugby, hockey, baseball and participating on Mission Trips to Haiti. Danielle is an avid volunteer around Kincardine and Tiverton.

MORGAN ROBERTSON


 

Morgan is the 17-year-old daughter of Jim and Kelly Robertson of the 9^th Concession of Kincardine. She is proud to be representing her sponsor, The Kings Pearl in Tiverton. She is currently attending KDSS and is planning to continue on to post-secondary school. Morgan plays hockey and works at Mac G’s House of Fashion in Kincardine. She loves to read and write.

The 154th Tiverton Fair runs Oct. 2-4, with the theme: “Sow it, Grow it, Show it.” Besides the ambassador of the fair competition Friday night, there is the popular auction of the prize-winning pies and cakes.

A new feature this year, is the Hydro One Electricity Discovery Centre, running all weekend, along with the Grain Farmers of Ontario trailer where you can try milking a cow!

Saturday includes breakfast sponsored by the Lions Club, a kids pedal tractor pull, lawn and garden tractor pull, poultry show, saddle horse show and miniature horse show, Girl Guide barbecue, Needle in a Hay Stack, and an archery challenge.

The parade runs at Noon, featuring the new ambassador and runners-up, bands, Shriners, clowns, floats, antique vehicles, and much more. And the Saturday night dance is to Urban Rodeo.

Sunday events include a church service, truck and tractor bush pull, and a medieval demonstration.
