South Bruce OPP urge people to stay off roads until storm passes

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – A winter storm is currently settled over Southern Bruce County.  High wind and blowing snow are creating pockets of zero visibility and very hazardous driving conditions.
The South Bruce OPP is urging motorists to consider postponing non-essential travel as conditions deteriorate quickly when the wind gets stronger.

For those who decide to travel in this storm, keep your headlights and tail lights on and clear of snow.  Remember to keep your speed down, “If you see snow, go slow”.

For information on winter driving, including recommended items for a vehicle emergency kit, please visit: http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/safety/winterdrive/winterdrive.shtml/.

For up to date road and weather information, please visit: http://www.brucecounty.on.ca/road-conditions.php/ or call Bruce County Roads at 1-866-266-7569, option “2”.

Do not call police looking for road and weather information as this is not a service that we provide.
