KTTPS raises more than $300 at Terry Fox Run
Students and staff at Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School showed their love for Terry Fox as they spent part of Friday afternoon walking and running laps around the track at the school during the annual Terry Fox Run.
Some students carried posters declaring their support for the Canadian icon who lost a leg to cancer which prompted him to attempt to cross Canada in his Marathon of Hope 35 years ago, raising money for cancer research. Through the Terry Fox Foundation, that work continues, as does the annual Terry Fox Run throughout communities across the country.
Arwen Myall, a Grade 2 student at KTTPS, won a T-shirt in the contest held as part of the event. The school raised $325 for cancer research.
The Kincardine Terry Fox Run was held Sunday at the Davidson Centre.
