All roads in and around Kincardine area are closed

December 23, 2022

Effective today (Dec. 23) at 7 p.m., all roads in and around the Kincardine area are closed, due to blowing and drifting snow, and no visibility.

The South Bruce OPP reports that roads maintained by Bruce County, Huron-Kinloss Township, the Municipality of Kincardine, and the Municipality of Brockton, are not being maintained at this time. Consider these roads closed. Motorists are advised to not travel on untreated roads.

Also, Highway 21 is closed from Amberley to Kincardine, Kincardine to Port Elgin, and Port Elgin to Southampton. as well as from Goderich to Amberley, and Grand Bend to Goderich. And Highway 9 is closed, from Kincardine to Walkerton, all due to the blizzard.

For those who decide to travel, keep your headlights and tail lights on and clear of snow and do not drive on a closed road.

Remember to keep your speed down, “If you see snow, go slow.”
