Leader Resources hosting Green Energy Doors Open Oct. 3
Leader Resources is inviting people to take a close-up look at the solar rooftop installation located at the company's headquarters at 147 Mahood Johnston Drive, Kincardine.
The event is part of Green Energy Doors Open 2015 and will be open from 10 a.m. until Noon, this Saturday (Oct. 3). The 42-kilowatt solar rooftop consists of 160 solar panels and eight inverters feeding electricity back to the local grid.
Visitors will also see a Tesla P85S sedan. This car is the benchmark for electric vehicle manufacturers for both range and performance, and is surprisingly luxurious.
The Kincardine event is one of more than 135 locations across Ontario and Alberta participating in Green Energy Doors
Open for 2015. Leader Resources is a renewable energy developer with projects throughout Ontario.
“Last year, 110 hosts and more than 3,300 people took part, visiting renewable energy and conservation projects, big and small,” says Kristopher Stevens, executive director of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA). “Our participating hosts are showing us that we can power, heat, cool and move ourselves, powering our prosperity.”
Ontario has established itself as a leader in sustainable energy in North America. Renewable energy has attracted more than $24-billion in investment during a global recession and created more than 42,000 jobs, to date. In just six years, Ontario has seen local individual and community ownership of renewable energy projects rise from well under one per cent to just over 17 per cent. Ontario is well recognized globally for its breakthroughs in smart-grid, energy storage, and has a growing culture of conservation.
