Probus Club of Kincardine installs new executive

The Probus Club of Kincardine installed its new executive at the Sept. 15 meeting at the Davidson Centre.

Probus Clubs provide regular meetings for retired or semi-retired professional and business people, and others of similar backgrounds, who appreciate and value increased opportunities for social interaction and enjoy hearing guest speakers on topics of interest.

Clubs are not involved in community projects, although the Kincardine club does a "road clean-up" of a seven-kilometre portion of the B-line (Bruce County Road 23) twice a year.

Most clubs are men's clubs, but there are ladies' clubs and an ever-increasing number of mixed clubs. The Kincardine area has a men's club, founded 22 years ago. Spouses often attend meetings when the guest speaker's topic is related to aging and/or health issues.

The Kincardine and area club meets throughout the year at 9:45 a.m., the third Tuesday of each month, at the Davidson Centre. Exceptions are the December Breakfast Meeting and the May Annual Dinner Meeting.

The new executive includes president John Gates, vice-president Ken Ritz,  bulletin editor Rad Michielson, communications director Charles Ludlow, secretary Gerry Stephens, membership director Gregg McClelland, liaison/dinners - Doug Emmerton and Cam Stuart, guest speakers - Bob Harvey and Bob Scott, "Who Am I?" - Wayne Palmateer and Richard Emmerton, and directors Les Shane, Steve Phillips, Keith Addison, Ron MacDonald, Andy Fraser, Ron Harris, and Ian McCaig.

The new executive of the Probus Club of Kincardine, includes Richard Emmerton (L), Bob Harvey, Wayne Palmateer, Bob Scott, Doug Emmerton, Ken Ritz, John Gates, Gerry Stephens, Rad Michielson, Gregg McClelland, Cam Stuart and Charles Ludlow; absent, are Les Shane, Steve Phillips, Keith Addison, Ron MacDonald, Andy Fraser, Ron Harris, and Ian McCaig
