Perhaps it was the beautiful, warm, sunny weather or the Thanksgiving Day holiday weekend.
But more than likely, it was the delicious home-baked goods, candy, cookies, and fall decor, that drew a huge crowd to the annual Kountry Kitchen bazaar, Saturday at Pine River United Church.
A long line-up of people waited patiently for the doors to open at 11 a.m., and then surged through the church basement, purchasing pies, cakes, goodies, preserves, Christmas cakes and puddings, frozen beefsteak pies and shepherd's pies, floral arrangements in pumpkins and decorated pumpkins, as well as crafts and quilts.
Patrons were also invited to enjoy their lunch at the Heavenly Cafe upstairs.
Also at the event, Julie McGuire was selling Ripley history books, including the 2015 Ripley Reunion edition, "Families and Farms of Huron Township and Ripley," with only 200 copies left; and a reprint of 250 copies of the 1975 Ripley history book.
