Historic Kincardine Pavilion marks 100th anniversary Canada Day weekend
The Kincardine Beach Pavilion is marking its 100th anniversary with live music, dancing, birthday cake and refreshments, Saturday, July 1, and Sunday, July 2.

The pavilion, located at the bottom of Durham Street in the Town of Kincardine, was officially opened during the Old Boys and Girls Reunion in 1923, and for many years, it was known as the best dance floor along the shores of Lake Huron.

In the 1920s, dances were held as often as four times per week during the summer months. It cost 15 cents to enter the pavilion and five cents to join in on the dance floor.

Now, the pavilion hosts a wide range of events, including markets, live music, dances, weddings, meetings, family events and fund-raisers.

Everyone is welcome to celebrate this momentous occasion and usher in another 100 years of wonderful memories in Kincardine’s historic dance hall.

Centennial celebration events begin July 1 at 2 p.m., with the Kincardine Community Singers performing their “Beatles” concert, followed by a ribbon-cutting, remarks, and refreshments at 4:30 pm. Gather your friends and family and join in the festivities, including some birthday cake.

The celebration continues July 2 at 2 p.m., with a performance and dancing by the Lighthouse Swing Band.
