It was the regular season start the Home Hardware Novice Rep Kinucks envisioned.
After solid performances through exhibition play, the Kinucks visited the Mount Forest Rams, Sunday, Oct. 18, and cruised to a season-opening 9-1 win.
It took a few minutes for the Kinucks to find the back of the net, but when Jordan McDonald beat the Ram netminder at the three-minute mark of the first, from Trent Houghton, the flood gates opened.
By the end of the first two frames, Kincardine had a dominating 5-0 lead. McDonald added his second of the game with Ty McQuillin, Houghton and Jack Beddington picking up singles. Assisting on the first and second period markers were Jack Charbonneau and McQuillin.
The third period summary was much the same. Kincardine controlled play for much of the final frame with a ferocious forecheck and defensive discipline.
Rounding out the scoring in the third, were Houghton with two to complete the hat-trick, Beddington with his second of the game, and Joshua Cuyler. Assisting, were Beddington, and rookies Brody Lyndon and Ethan Kaminski.
Jordan Wall lived up to his last name between the pipes, earning his first full-game win of the year.
