Kincardine Bulldogs down Goderich, lose to Mount Forest
The Kincardine Nichol Junior C Bulldogs downed Goderich, but lost to Mount Forest on the weekend.
Friday night, the Bulldogs welcomed the Sailors to the Davidson Centre and sent them home on the short end of a 6-3 score.
Goderich opened the scoring midway through the first period. Patrick Wiejak then put Kincardine on the board, assisted by Dan Skinner and Shane Vollmer. Gerrit Satosek added a short-handed marker, from Shawn Moore and Mike Osadca, to make it a 2-1 game.
The Sailors scored early in the second before the 'Dogs scored four quick goals to take a commanding 6-2 lead. Satosek scored from Eric Langridge and Moore; Matt Mah from Moore and Satosek; Langridge from Mah; and Moore, unassisted.
Goderich scored once more in the third, but Kincardine took the 6-3 win.
Sunday afternoon, Mount Forest came to the Davidson Centre and handed the 'Dogs a 5-4 loss.
Vollmer opened the scoring midway in the first, from Wiejak and Jordan Bell to give Kincardine a 1-0 lead. Wiejak added another from Mah, and Gerrit Satosek scored from Matt Baker to make it a 3-0 game.
Mount Forest scored two in the second, before Dalton Hnatko scored from Mah and Langridge to make it a 4-3 game.
However, the Patriots owned the final frame, tying the game at 4-4, before scoring the game-winner on the powerplay to take the 5-4 win.
The Bulldogs travel to Hanover Friday, Oct. 30, for an 8 p.m. game; and travel to Goderich to face the Sailors at 8 p.m. Their next home game is Saturday, Nov. against Hanover.
