Ripley Lions thank all who braved the elements to view Point Clark fireworks display
To the Editor:

The Ripley and District Lions Club sends a big thank you to all who came to Point Clark for the fireworks, Friday night, June 30.

We did our best but couldn’t convince the weather to co-operate. Our fireworks contract didn’t allow for postponement or refund.

But we did have a great show, 20 minutes later than expected, in front of a smaller crowd. And we did get to give out 500 Canada Day cupcakes before the rain had people running for cover.

We’ll try harder next year.

We are completely funded by your cash donations and by the support of our generous business sponsors: Elliott Construction, Hurontel, Heritage Fire Company, Kempton Construction, Lucknow Co-op, Pollock Electric, Remax Renate Sieber, Remax Carol Anderson, Shoreline Enterprises, Smeltzer’s Garden Centre, Walden Health Facility, and Waters Edge Irrigation.

Sincerely,
Murray Yungblut
