Sold-out Handbags for Hospice event set for Sept. 21 at Kincardine Pavilion

September 18, 2023

The seventh annual Handbags for Hospice event is set for this Thursday (Sept. 21), from 6-9 p.m., at the Kincardine Pavilion, hosted by Duncan and Lesley Hawthorne.

The sold-out gala will welcome 170 women and men for a fabulous evening of handbags, food, drink, laughs, fun, and fund-raising.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with a silent auction of more than 100 high-end handbags and experiences to participate in the live auction. A short program will begin at 6:50 p.m., with the live auction taking place at 7:25 p.m. featuring Layne the Auctionista!

It’s all in support of Huron Shores Hospice which provides quality end-of-life care, at no cost, to residents of Kincardine, Huron-Kinloss and Saugeen Shores, and surrounding areas.

“Our vision is to create a world where end-of-life receives the same beauty, care and respect as the beginning, by creating moments that matter,” says founding director Cheryl Cottrill.

In addition to end-of-life care, Huron Shores Hospice provides free programs for Grief Recovery, End-of-Life Doula services, Death Cafes, and End-of-Life Planning workshops.

Huron Shores Hospice is a charitable, not-for-profit, volunteer-driven, community-funded organization, operating a two-bed residential hospice at Tiverton Park Manor.
