Walkerton company donates to Bruce County Paramedic Services
Marvin Freiburger and Sons Inc. of Walkerton has donated $1,000 in support of paramedic services in the region.
Angela Freiburger was on hand Thursday to present the donation to Raymond Lux, deputy chief of Bruce County Paramedic Services.
The funds will be used to purchase digital signage boards at the Walkerton paramedic station which will provide real time communications about the daily shift roster, road and hospital closures, declared outbreaks, paramedic fleet status, and other emergency communications needed for daily paramedic operations.
“Marvin Freiburger & Sons Inc. appreciates the emergency services in the area and wants to acknowledge all the first-responders who go out on a limb every day to keep people safe,” said Freiburger.
“Bruce County Paramedic Services is very honoured that Marvin and Angela think of us every year, support our service, and give back to the community,” said Steve Schaus, chief of paramedic services for the county.
Bruce County Paramedic Services employs a staff of about 100 full-time and part-time paramedics, providing pre-hospital care to citizens and visitors of Bruce County. They respond to medical and trauma emergencies with a fleet of 13 ambulances and three supervisor units that are stationed in seven communities across the county but can be deployed anywhere as needed.
