Kinetic Knights gearing up for kick-off of new robotics challenge Jan. 6

The Kinetic Knights Robotics Team (FRC 781) is gearing up for the kick-off of the new FIRST robotics challenge, slated for Saturday, Jan. 6.

The team has been busy throughout the fall, fund-raising and gaining sponsorships to support the build season (January to March) when it sets out to design and build a robot that will meet the challenge as outlined by FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology).

Besides raising funds, the team has been recruiting new members and now has a roster of almost 30 on the team, with about a dozen mentors.

Several attended an off-season robotics competition, STEMly, in Hamilton, as well as SWATposium in Oakville which provided workshops regarding various aspects of robotics, such as programming, electrical, mechanical and administration.

The Kinetic Knights Robotics Team is a community youth robotics organization, open to young people, ages 13-19, in Kincardine. For more information, contact lead mentor, David Dadson, at dcdadson@live.com.
