Kincardine wants update from Bluewater board about proposed new high school

Kincardine council wants an update from the Bluewater District School Board about the proposed new high school in the municipality.

Councillor Bill Stewart brought up the issue at the council meeting Wednesday night (Jan. 10), putting forward a motion to invite the school board to a meeting next month to provide information about the new school.

“In 2020, there was a $26-million grant (from the province) for this project,” said Stewart. “Council and the public should be updated on its status. It would be valuable to hear from the board. This project will have a huge impact on the Municipality of Kincardine.”

Council agreed to have staff invite a delegation from the school board to attend a council meeting in February to discuss the new high school.
