Kincardine Legion Corner
Congratulations to Catherine Frook, winner of $1,782 in Wednesday’s
Catch the Ace draw. She chose Envelope No. 10 which contained the Seven of Diamonds. If she had caught the Ace of Spades, she would have won $30,622! Better luck next time.
It was a full house for the
Saturday Meat Draw! The double-dipper this week was our own Christine Goodspeed, and Ruth Gordon won $206 in the 50/50 draw.
The
Branch 183 Dart Team, made up of Steve Musselman, Teri Hogsden, Derek Farr and Dan Vanderveeken, competed in the District Tournament in Goderich, Jan. 20. Unfortunately, none of them moved past the round-robin in singles. Teri and Steve played well in the doubles competition, placing second in their group and proceeding to the playoffs. They made it to the semi-finals but were knocked out of the competition. The four of them played very well in the team competition, placing second in their round-robin group and advancing to the semi-finals but were eventually knocked out. It was a great day of fun for everyone, a well-run event by Dan Kelly and Jon Corbett.
Congratulations to the branch’s
Euchre Team which placed first in the Zone Competition in Seaforth and is moving onward and upward.
The Kincardine Legion Euchre Team takes the Zone Championship; from left, are Les Kelly, Randy McLeod, Bruce Hedley and Doug Kennedy, with Zone Commander Jon Corbett
Just a reminder that the doors are open at 5:45 p.m. for
Thursday Night Bingo and bingo sheets are available for purchase at that time as well. The first game starts at 6:45 p.m. There is no food available from the kitchen, but you can still get food from the lounge bar.
The
kitchen renovation is coming along nicely and hopefully, it will be up and running soon and we can start hosting all the events we have planned.
