Women’s House seeking nominations for Woman of Distinction award
Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, in partnership with Business to Bruce, is hosting the annual International Woman’s Day celebration, Thursday, March 7, from 5:30- 9 p.m., at the Klages Mill and Garden in Chesley.

This year’s theme is “Count Her In: Accelerating Gender Equality Through Economic Empowerment.” Enjoy an incredible night of inspiring stories, paired with networking, refreshments and hearty appetizers.

At this event, hear from distinguished TED Talk and global keynote speaker Sarah Baldeo, who has a passion for sharing her knowledge and inspiring others to practise integrity and accountability. She will be speaking about how to use technology to drive revenue for your small business.

Baldeo is an experienced neuroscientist, technologist, corporate strategist and entrepreneur, closing on 20 years of leadership experience. In 2023, she graced more than 50 stages, and gave 24 keynotes, was featured on 960AM radio, and most recently nominated for the DMZ 2024 Women of the Year Award.

She is currently chief executive officer at IDQ Advisory Group, a boutique IT firm founded in 2010, and has held senior executive roles at Canada News Wire, Ceridian, FinancialForce, TransparentBusiness, Insurance Search Bureau, and Deloitte Canada. She holds an executive MBA from University of Toronto, a neuroscience degree from York University, and certifications from Princeton, Ryerson, and University of Illinois.

With women entrepreneurs raising the bar, building new bridges and leading the local economy and prosperity, there are lots of reasons to celebrate. Be inspired from the stories of persistent women leaders in the community, speaking about their take on this year’s theme.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased here until March 5.

This event is in partnership with the Province of Ontario
