Winter blasts back into the Kincardine area

Winter blasts back into the Kincardine area
After several days of unbelievably warm, sunny weather, winter returned to the Kincardine area with a blast of snow and high wind, Wednesday afternoon.

Tuesday morning brought a major thunderstorm, with torrential rain, but by late Wednesday morning, cold temperatures had moved in, causing a flash freeze, followed by heavy snow and wind.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has recommended people consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.

Snow squalls are expected, bringing hazardous white-out conditions in the heavy, blowing snow, with northwesterly winds gusting up to 80 km/h.

The wintry conditions should ease off by Thursday afternoon, and then the weather is expected to turn sunny and warm again by the weekend.
