Kincardine Bulldogs lead playoff series, 2-1, against Wingham
The Kincardine Bulldogs won the first two games, but lost the third, in their playoff series against the Wingham Ironmen, in Provincial Junior Hockey League action on the weekend.
The Bulldogs slammed Wingham, 8-1, Friday night, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
Carter Servais was the powerhouse for Kincardine, with a hat-trick and an assist. Picking up assists on his goals, were Jordan Moulton, Liam Colhoun, Jackson Phillips and Cooper Schneider.
The other goals were scored by Schneider from Dylan Richardson and Jordan Beisel; Chad Lawrence from Blake Hellyer; Trent Houghton from Beisel; Phillips from Moulton and Servais; and Schneider from Moulton and Hellyer.
Kincardine goalie Carter Garvie made 22 saves on 23 shots.
In Wingham, Saturday night, the ‘Dogs took their second win of the series, 4-2.
Beisel had two goals, while Nolan MacKinnon and Schneider added a marker each. Assists went to Moulton, Gavin Downs, Schneider, Kyle Dolmage, Richardson and Lawrence.
Garvie made 19 saves on 21 shots.
Back at the Davidson Centre, Sunday afternoon, the Bulldogs lost a close one, 2-1, to the Ironmen. Both teams came out slugging in this penalty-ridden game that ended with game misconducts and a gross game misconduct handed out.
Scoring Kincardine’s lone goal, was Lawrence from Kieran Moore.
Goalie Ryan Wheeler made 27 saves on 29 shots.
The Bulldogs are in Wingham, Wednesday, March 6, at 8:30 p.m. for Game 4, and return to the Davidson Centre in Kincardine for Game 5, Friday, March 8, at 8:30 p.m.
If necessary, Game 6 runs Saturday, March 9, in Wingham at 7 p.m.; and Game 7 is Sunday, March 10, at 6 p.m., in Kincardine.
