​Kincardine Bulldogs advance to semi-finals after downing Wingham in Game 7
The Kincardine Bulldogs had their fans on edge as they took the series against Wingham all the way to Game 7, with a 4-2 win, Sunday evening, in front of a huge crowd.

The ‘Dogs had a 3-1 series lead over the Ironmen after trouncing them, 3-0, in Game 4, Wednesday night in Wingham.

Scoring for Kincardine, were Gavin Downs from Gavin Gibbons and Liam Colhoun; and Wilson Shipp and Colhoun, unassisted. Goalie Carter Garvie made 21 saves on 21 shots for the shut-out.

Then the wheels fell off for the Bulldogs, as they lost the next two games, allowing Wingham to tie up the series, 3-3.

Friday night, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, the Ironmen brought their “A” game, defeating the Bulldogs, 6-4.

Scoring for the ‘Dogs, were Colhoun from Jordan Moulton and Carter Servais; Houghton from Moulton and Colhoun; Dylan Richardson from Colhoun and Servais; and Moulton from Downs and Servais. Garvie made 26 saves on 31 shots.

Back in Wingham Saturday night, the Bulldogs lost a close, 3-2 game, pushing the series to Game 7.

Goal-scorers for Kincardine, were Jackson Phillips from Gibbons and Colhoun; and Downs from Moulton. Goalie Ryan Wheeler made 19 saves on 22 shots.

Sunday evening, back at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, it was do-or-die for the Bulldogs, and they managed a 4-2 win, including an empty-net goal.

Wingham opened the scoring midway in the first period, but minutes later, Moulton tied it up, assisted by Kyle Dolmage.

Gibbons struck early in the second, assisted by Dolmage and Downs, to put the ‘Dogs ahead, 2-1, but Wingham tied it up minutes later.

Phillips then scored from Servais and Kieran Moore, to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead heading into the final frame.

It was a chippy third period as the Ironmen fought to tie up the game. As they pulled their goalie with just seconds remaining, Kincardine scored an empty-netter to take the game, and the series win.

Garvie made 30 saves on 32 shots.

The Bulldogs now advance to the semi-finals against the Mount Forest Patriots, in the Pollock Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League.
