Off the Broom – Shane team wins Tuesday competitive draw
The Kincardine Curling Club’s third and final session of the season is now coming to an end.
The final week has had a mixture of serious games and some fun games and events happening, as well as one final bonspiel. It was held Saturday, March 23, with local curlers participating in a wind-up fun spiel. It was an enjoyable day with two games of curling, along with lunch and prizes for all.
Most of the regular weekly draws no longer declare winners. The only exception is the Tuesday competitive draw. This year, the final came down to a tight game between the teams of Peter Newton and Les Shane, with the Shane team emerging with a 7-5 victory. Curling with Les, were Mike Meraw, Nate Capeling and Gord Cale. Congratulations, guys!
At this time, the club expresses our gratitude to all our sponsors who have been so generous to us throughout the year. Your donations and sponsorships are gratefully appreciated. Our club is a volunteer club so, members, give yourselves a pat on the back for all your hard work which helped to make our season a great one.
So to all, enjoy the coming summer months and don’t forget our annual golf tournament which will be held June 9 at Ainsdale Golf Course. There is still lots of time to register to participate. This is our biggest fund-raiser of the year so let’s make it our best one yet!
