No. 9, forward Liam Colhoun, of Kincardine was inducted into the Kincardine Bulldogs Wall of Fame, Friday night, at the annual awards banquet, held in the Kincardine Hall at the Davidson Centre.

“Thanks to all my teammates for a great year,” said Colhoun. “We pushed through the Wingham (Ironmen) barrier this year and we can be proud of that.

“I’ve enjoyed playing hockey with the Bulldogs. It’s what I’ve always wanted to do, ever since I started in novice with Kincardine Minor Hockey.

“And there’s nothing better than playing hockey in your hometown. Thanks to the great coaches and everyone who supported us. I certainly enjoyed my final year in junior hockey.”

General manager Warren Beisel started the evening off by welcoming the crowd, and then everyone enjoyed a delicious meal.

Following the main course, captain Jordan Moulton, assistant captains Jordan Beisel and Carter Servais, and Colhoun cut and served the cake for dessert.

Beisel thanked the Bulldogs executive, the volunteers, the coaches and trainers, and the staff who help make the home games run so smoothly. He also thanked title sponsors, Brad and Melanie Pike of Kincardine Home Hardware, for their continued support of the team.

Beisel gave special thanks to the parents and the players for their commitment to the Bulldogs throughout the season.

Timekeeper Gord Kemp who has been absent from his post for the past couple of months due to health issues, was back in fine form, and called up No. 22, defenceman Cooper Schneider, to present him with his own box of lifesavers. Schneider spent 109 minutes in the penalty box this season. At home games, Kemp hands out lifesavers to the players when they land in the penalty box.

On behalf of the team, Jordan Moulton thanked Beisel for being the busiest and best general manager in the league.

“For the past 25 years, he has been running around, organizing events for the Bulldogs – rookie camp, indoor beach volleyball, and more,” he said. “He makes sure the jerseys get washed, and organizes team meals including this banquet we’re enjoying tonight. He even has sleepovers at his place.

"He and Mike Hackett (assistant general manager) make a great team. Thank you for all that you do for the Bulldogs.”

Beisel noted some sad news for the team in the loss of Trevor Clark who was on the executive for years; and the team’s No. 1 fan, Sally Troke. “They both loved the Bulldogs and we will always remember them.”

He then reminded the players of the Indoor Beach Volleyball event, May 3-4; the Beach Dance in July; Golf Tournament, Aug. 16 at Kincardine Golf and Country Club, and training camp in mid-August.
