Everyone welcome to Kincardine Multicultural Celebration, May 14

The Davidson Centre in Kincardine is set to be home to the annual community favourite event, the Kincardine Multicultural Celebration, Tuesday, May 14, from 5:30-8 p.m.

This celebration of communities and culture fosters a sense of belonging and inclusion. There is free admission, and all are welcome!

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage and learn from each other’s cultures by sampling ethnic delicacies and discovering new traditions.

The event offers a unique opportunity and forum to dialogue and promote understanding within the community. It encourages everyone to remember the importance and benefit of inclusiveness and diversity in various cultures. These interactions strengthen the community and workplaces. They also foster a sense of belonging and inclusion.

Organized by the Kincardine Multicultural Celebration committee, the celebration receives generous support from Bruce Power, the Swajan Samanvay Sanatan Centre, the Municipality of Kincardine, and Kincardine District Senior School.

Dr. Chandra Tripathi founded the celebration in 2003, with a vision of fostering respect and acceptance of all cultures. The first event at Huron Heights Public School in Kincardine attracted 200 attendees celebrating a variety of cultures.

High school student Pankti Shah has been attending the Multicultural Celebration since she was five years old.

“This annual event enables us to celebrate the different cultures embedded in our community and has personally had a great impact on me,” she says. “I have learned to be proud of my unique background and heritage and feel more accepted in my school community. I am very grateful that we have this Multicultural Celebration in a small town like Kincardine!”
