​Bruce Power opens Summer Bus Tour registration, expands to include weekends

Bruce Power has launched the on-line registration portal for its popular Summer Bus Tour Program which features tours each week day in June and expands to seven days per week in July and August to meet growing demand.

The public is encouraged to pre-register for a free bus tour of the site. The tours kick off June 3 and run through Aug. 29.

Starting at the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre, located at 3394 Bruce County Road 20, northwest of Tiverton, guests will have the opportunity to explore the exhibit hall before hopping on a bus for a one-hour narrated tour about clean, reliable nuclear energy, the production of cancer-fighting medical isotopes, the company’s Major Component Replacement (MCR) project, the site’s history, and Bruce Power’s commitment to safety and the environment.

“Over the years, thousands of tourists and community members have joined Bruce Power for a summer bus tour, and we’re confident that with an increasing public interest in clean energy, this season will be no different,” said Dwight Irwin, manager of community relations.

“By extending our hours to include weekends in July and August, more people will have the opportunity to learn about how Bruce Power provides 30 per cent of Ontario’s electricity while helping the province achieve its Net-Zero targets, as well as our pride in producing medical isotopes that fight cancer and keep hospitals safe around the world.”
