Bruce Power donates $100,000 toward CT scanner at Wingham Hospital

Bruce Power has donated $100,000 to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation, in support of the new CT scanner.

The foundation’s “Caring Together” campaign is focused on raising at least $2.5-million for a CT scanner and the required facility renovations. CT scans have become the new standard of medical practice for emergency care. A local CT scanner will also make the hospital more attractive to potential health-care providers who are looking for access to the most up-to-date technology.

“Access to health-care facilities and the best possible equipment and technology is important to Bruce Power,” said John Peevers, director of community and media relations, and economic development. “We are proud our funding can help bring improved care to the communities Bruce Power serves, as well as to our employees and their families.”

Bruce Power has been a long-time supporter of the Wingham Hospital. The company’s generosity was influential in completing the major hospital redevelopment in 2016 and it has contributed to many important equipment upgrades through the CKNX Health-Care Heroes Radiothon. With this newest donation, Bruce Power has contributed more than $285,000 to the hospital.

“The positive influence Bruce Power has on the vitality of communities in Huron and Bruce counties can’t be understated,” said foundation executive director Nicole Duquette-Jutzi. “We are so grateful that Bruce Power continues to recognize local hospitals as the cornerstone of good health for the whole region.”
