Bluewater Ballistix volleyball teams win gold at provincials in Ottawa
The Bluewater Ballistix Under 13 (U13) girls and Under 15 (U15) boys volleyball teams brought gold medals home from the Ontario championships held April 28-30 in Ottawa.

In October of 2023, the Bluewater Ballistix Volleyball Club (Wiarton), expanded to 11 teams from three, spanning all age groups from U13 girls to U18 girls and boys, and consisting of players from all over Bruce, Grey and Huron counties.

The teams had an exciting season with practices held all over Bruce County several days per week, and attending tournaments throughout Ontario.

At the Ontario championships, held at the EY Centre in Ottawa, the U13 Bluewater Ballistix girls volleyball team concluded its season by winning gold in the Division 5, Tier 2 playoffs. With the majority of the players being new to volleyball this season, it was definitely a great accomplishment.

The teams worked hard and supported each other throughout the three-day championships. Family members were there as well, cheering on their players with pom poms and by doing "the wave" in the stands.

Congratulations to both Bluewater Ballistix teams for coming home with gold. With the expansion of this club, it is clear that competitive volleyball is gaining popularity in the area and the club looks forward to seeing the growth and success of these new, young players next season.
