Well done, to KDSS and its "Newsies" musical which continues Friday night (May 31) and Saturday afternoon (June 1), at the Kincardine Arts Centre.
The Kingsbridge Community is hosting its "Where do we go from here?" musical starting this weekend too! Great entertainment close to home and the best part - we know the stars of the show!
The community is again grieving the loss of Vicki Dore who died at home recently. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, remembering her growing up in Purple Grove and the musical and creative talents she shared with many of us. We also remember the families of Doug Fisher of Kincardine and Sharon MacDougall of Lucknow, and others grieving at this time.
Members of the Purple Grove Women’s Institute attended the Bruce County W.I. District Annual, May 23, with eight other W.I. branches, at St. John's United Church in Chesley. Guest speaker was South Bruce OPP constable Melissa Barfoot, addressing the serious issue of "Human Trafficking."
It was an excellent day celebrating Bruce County District W.I.'s 25th anniversary! The new executive was installed, with Ellen Waye as past-president, Bren de Leeuw as president, Betty Anne Thompson as 1st vice-president, Marion Leifso as secretary and Marg McCready as treasurer.
