​Kincardine Lions net $15,000 from most successful yard sale ever

The Kincardine and District Lions Club has made slightly more than $15,000 from its most successful annual Giant Yard Sale ever, held Saturday, June 1, and Sunday morning, June 2, on the arena floor at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.

The club sends a huge thank you to everyone who contributed items for the event and/or purchased items at the yard sale.

The Lions have donated the proceeds to the club’s All-Wheel Park project, slated to be built just west of the playground at Lions Park, beside the Davidson Centre.

In other news, the Lions held their final business meeting of the fiscal year, June, 4, at which the new executive was inducted and some awards handed out.

Past-District Governor Dennis Flavell and Zone 2 chairman Paul Kozma inducted the new Kincardine Lions executive which includes president Steve Whitaker, first-vice-president Scott Stevens, second-vice-president Peter Wolfe, third-vice-president Ken Fair, treasurer Phil Thompkins, secretary George Ling, directors Andy Palmer, Marty Cahill, Andre Bellemarre and John McManus, lion tamer Kathy Kozma, assistant lion tamer Paul Kozma, bulletin editor Dennis Flavell, membership chairman Andrew Lunshof, membership committee Dan Holm and Carol Stuart, and tail-twister Eric Visser.

Life memberships were presented to Lions Kathy Kozma and Steve Herbert; and a Lions Clubs International Key Award, for sponsoring two new members, was presented to Lion Paul Kozma.
