Golf Fore Kids’ Sake raises almost $25,000 for Big Brothers, Big Sisters

The Golf Fore Kids’ Sake saw two amazing days of golf at Ainsdale Golf Course, raising $24,700 in support of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of South Bruce North Huron.
The women’s tournament was held Saturday, June 1, with 72 golfers.
The winning team included Deirdre Carroll, Maggie Young, Sara Scott and Stephanie Stanley.
The Spirit Award went to Team Matchett (Lisa Laschuk, Stephanie Catto, Janice Matchett and Kaitlyn Kiely) for its "Masters"-inspired costumes. This prize was chosen by Little Brother Garrett. The Little's Ball winner went to the team of Sandy Petter, Linda MacTavish, Cathy Alcombrack and Nancy Stewart.
Kelly MacNeil won the Closest to the Pin contest; and Sarah Harker won the Putting Contest.
The men’s tournament was held Friday, June 7, also with 72 golfers.
The winning team included Justin Harker, Curtis Chaput, Blair Chaput and Scott Austin.
The Spirit Award went to Team "FORE! Kids" (Jim Beaton, John Low, Matt Harvey and Dave McNeish); this was chosen by Big Sister Hilda. The Little's Ball was won by "Old Guys Hackin’" (Russ Smith, Mike Smith, Paul Anselmini and Gary Clark).
Closest to the Pin was won by Jordan Vanhaelemeesch; and the Putting Contest was won by Brad England.
Proceeds from this event will be used to support the Big Brothers and Big Sisters mentoring programs in Kincardine and area.
