Golf tournament raises $15,000 for Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce
The 32nd annual Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce Charity Golf Tournament took place June 6, at the Saugeen Golf Club. The day included 18 holes of golf with dinner and live and silent auctions.
Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce received net proceeds of $15,000 for the "Tips" program to make communities in Bruce and Grey counties safer.
Many local companies sponsored the golf tournament, and golfers from Ripley and Kincardine participated as well.
Hurontel sponsored a hole for $300 and was represented by a golf foursome of Ryan McClinchey, Todd McGlynn, Ainslie Simpson and Joel Armstrong.
Miller Insurance provided four Blue Jays tickets for the 2024 season for the live auction. Amanda Farrell Walsh played in the tournament, joining a foursome representing Trillium Insurance.
Jason Fear of Meridian Credit Union in Kincardine played golf with Meridian colleagues Peggy Reist, Natalie Brown and Jeff Brown
The Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) provided a $1,000 sponsorship, the platinum level.
Lakeside Chevrolet Buick GMC provided a hole-in-one prize of a Chevrolet Trailblazer.
Bruce Power sponsored a hole for $600.
Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb sponsored a hole for $300.
Somerhill Golf Course provided two nine hole passes with golf carts.
Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson provided a prize for the silent auction.
Tournament organizers appreciate title sponsors Germania Mutual Insurance, Bayshore Broadcasting, and Carlsberg Canada, as well as all the sponsors and volunteers who contributed to the success of this tournament.
