Bluewater District School Board presents 2024 Awards of Excellence

The Bluewater District School Board’s final regular meeting of the board for the 2023-24 school year, held June 18, was a celebration of volunteers who make a huge difference in the school communities.

A packed house at the education centre included special guests, family members, and supporters joining trustees, staff, and students for this year’s presentation of the Awards of Excellence, recognizing outstanding contributions to the local education system.

Trustees took turns presenting to the recipients, each representing a school area, or ‘family of schools.’ From school councils, nutrition programs, and fund-raising, to literacy, environmental education, and parent engagement, several initiatives were highlighted, supporting student success and well-being.

The board’s Awards of Excellence are presented annually at the final board meeting in June. As capturing every volunteer who contributes to the schools would be an impossible task, the awards represent a snapshot of the extraordinary efforts from individuals in each family of schools within the district.
