Catholic school board adds two educators to senior administration team
The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board has announced the addition of two educators to the senior administration team.

Lisa Bilodeau (above, left) is the new superintendent of education, and Papy Mukenge (above, right) is the acting assistant superintendent of education.

Both bring a wealth of knowledge, passion, and a shared commitment to the values that define the Catholic school community, states a press release from the board, issued Thursday.

Bilodeau joins the board, effective Aug. 19. She is a passionate Catholic leader committed to student achievement, faith development, and well-being. Originally from northern Ontario, she brings a wealth of experience from her current role as principal at the London District Catholic School Board.

A bilingual educator with a robust background in both secondary and elementary education, particularly French Immersion, Bilodeau led system research at the secondary level for developing French language proficiency and has been instrumental in aligning elementary French as a second language programs with the Science of Reading.

Her extensive experience includes roles as a principal and vice-principal in various London Catholic School Board schools, and leadership in developing, co-ordinating, and leading system programs, such as the board’s tutoring support program.

Mukenge is returning to the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board as acting assistant superintendent of education with a focus on math, among other responsibilities. His career in education is marked by diverse leadership roles and a strong commitment to Catholic education and equity, diversity, and inclusion.

This past year, Mukenge took a leave of absence to serve as the Middle School Principal at Haven of Peace Academy in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. His previous experience includes serving as the elementary principal at the Canadian International School of Egypt in Cairo, and various roles within the Waterloo Catholic District School Board.

Since joining the Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board in 2017, he has served as an administrator at St. Anthony’s School in Kincardine and Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Formosa. He brings a unique blend of regional and international experience, which will be invaluable in his new role.

Outside of his professional life, Mukenge has a passion for music and enjoys walking along the beaches of Dar Es Salaam and Lake Huron in Saugeen Shores.

These appointments mark an exciting chapter in the board’s journey toward excellence in education. It looks forward to the contributions of these two new senior administrators in fostering an inclusive, faith-centred environment where every student can thrive.
