Summer’s here, school's out and the weather has been HOT! What more could we ask for, other than hopefully, the hydro crews can find out why we are losing power and have none?

Congratulations to the Class of 2024, including the Grade 8 students at Ripley-Huron Community School. Such a wonderful adventure awaits you, as you begin the next chapter of your lives, entering high school. Also, congratulations to all the students graduating from Kincardine District Senior School.

Marilyn Reid, and Brian and Jo Reid attended the Kindergarten graduation of Lucas Syvret of Woodstock. While there, they enjoyed watching Addison and Lucas play their soccer and baseball games.

Birthday greetings to Susan Cliffe, Sheena Houghton, Bonnie Boyle, Carmen Farrell, Ainslie Simpson, Stosh Cubberley, Tyler VanDyke, and Cooper VandeSype.

Jim and Fran Farrell and Lillian Logtenberg enjoyed supper with Simon and Jan Logtenberg, Saturday evening, to celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary of Simon and Jan Logtenberg which was earlier in the month. They also congratulated their nephew, Daniel Burmaster, on his wedding to Kallie Tenthorey, happening at the Joy Bible Camp in Bancroft, which the rest of the Logtenberg family was attending.

Did you have a chance to attend the opening of the Back Forty Bazaar? If not, you should check it out! You will find it at either Lewis Park in Ripley or Caledonia Park in Lucknow. The bazaar is held Thursdays, from 3-7 p.m., at the two locations on alternating weeks. You won't be disappointed. The next bazaar is July 4, in Ripley.

Members of St. Andrew's United Church in Ripley, once again, outdid themselves at their annual ham barbecue, Sunday. No one came away hungry, that’s for sure. It was great to be able to get together, enjoy the bountiful meal prepared, and visit with friends, colleagues and neighbours we haven't seen in awhile. These events ensure our communities survive and prosper.

The Purple Grove community sends prayers to those affected by the floods and wildfires, that you may be able to return safely to your homes soon. Many in this community have family, neighbours and relatives living there and we’re keeping in touch, hoping tor a successful outcome.
