More than 350 vehicles in downtown Kincardine for first Cruise Night of summer
The weather was a bit questionable, Friday night, with a smattering of rain. But that didn’t stop a huge crowd from taking in the first Cruise Night of the summer in downtown Kincardine.
Queen Street was filled with 365 vehicles of every vintage and description, including a 1956 Corvette Roadster, a 1996 Dodge Viper, a 1957 Bel Air, a 1960 Cadillac Fleetwood, a 1922 Ford Model T, a 1969 Dodge Super Bee, and a 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
There were also several food vendors and other outlets for people to browse during their walk from one end of the downtown to the other.
The Kinetic Knights Robotics Team held a robot demonstration in front of the shop on Lambton Street, showcasing the 2023-24 season robot.
Members of the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation were selling 50-50 tickets all night, and when 8:30 p.m. rolled around, it was Doug Harris of Kincardine who won almost $3,000 in prize money – the largest amount in the history of Cruise Night!
The next events are set for Friday, Aug. 2, from 4-9 p.m., with special guest Dennis Gage, host of “My Classic Car," as Grand Marshall; and Friday, Aug. 30, from 6-9 p.m.
