Ripley Horticultural Society holds Christmas potluck

The Ripley and District Horticultural Society held its Christmas potluck Nov. 18 at the Ripley Complex.

Besides enjoying a delicious meal, the organization honoured a couple of members for their hard work and commitment.

Sheila MacDonald received a Life Membership for dedicated service, including six-plus years as secretary.

Sandra MacDonald received the Royal Bank award as the winner of the 2015 flower show.

At the potluck, the Ontario Horticultural Association's District 8 director Sharon Nivins of Lucknow, offered words of encouragement and praise for the Ripley group.

An auction of Christmas planters was also held, with rewarding results.
