​Dorothy Hamilton of Lucknow dies at the age of 92
Dorothy Jean Hamilton (nee Gibson) of Lucknow, died at Wingham and District Hospital, July 9, 2024. She was 92.

Born July 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Esther Gibson of Ashfield Township.

Beloved wife of Donald Hamilton for 54 years; he predeceased her in 2008.

Loving mother of Graham and Barb of Goderich, Greg and Deb of Lucknow and Paul and Andrea of Kincardine.

She was a great support to, and an extremely proud grandma of, her grandchildren, Kyle (Kathryn), JeanAnne (Andrew), Jordan, Alex (Jordan), Cory (Brittany), and Caitlin (Dean).

Nothing made Dorothy happier, or put such a big smile on her face, than a visit from her six great-grandchildren, Brady, Clark, Denver, Bruin, Summer and Cooper.

She will also be missed by her siblings, Catherine (John) Crocker, Caroline (Chris) Brown, George (Pat) Gibson, Dave (Val) Gibson, Cookie (Paul) Wardell and Gladys Hamilton.

Dorothy was predeceased by her daughter, Donalda (1974); grandson, Shea (2020); siblings, Roy and Ernie; sisters-in-law, Mary Gibson and Evelyn Splan (Bill); and her Hamilton in-laws, Bob and Sadie, Jim (Amanda), Al, Bud, and Bonnie Hamilton.

She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews and her Sepoy family, who were such a great support to her over the past several years.

Dorothy had such a great love for her family. She was known for her fantastic memory and her immense knowledge of family history. She will be missed.

A private funeral will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow.

Friends are invited to join the family for a casual visit at the Dave Farrish Room in the Lucknow Arena, Monday, July 15, 2024, at 2 p.m.

Interment, Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow.

Memorial donations to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation or Ronald McDonald House Charities, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
